Solo Training

Three tree was so beautiful. It sheltered Vernos as he sat beneath it meditating talking to Bonju. The two of them had a very odd relationship but it was a clear as day that they cared a lot about each other. Vernos took several deep breathes as he felt the energy of the tree fill his bones. It was in this moment that he had realized it was time for Bonju and him to train.

Bonju? vernos would say mentally hoping for bonju to answer him.

WHAT IS IT BOY? IM SLEEPING. It was clear that this training would be slightly difficult but for what it was worth Vernos knew that in order for him and Bonju to win any future battles and survive the godforsaken war they would have to work better as a team.

I want us to train together. If that is okay with you. We need to train together. You are my core spirit for a reason.

AND YOU ARE MY VANUTEI FOR A REASON. I UNDERSTAND TRAINING IS A MUCH BECAUSE WE QUITE FRANKLY HARDLY GET ALONG. MAYBE IF YOU WEREN'T SO WEAK THEN WE MIGHT BE ABLE TO HAVE A CHANCE IN THE FUTURE

Those words stung Vernos' heart. He remained silent as Bonju kind of felt bad. He knows Vernos struggles with a lot of things and he knows he wants to be able to defend not only himself but But Bonju as well, it was in that moment Bonju had a sudden change of heart.

LET'S TRAIN. I DON'T WANT YOU TO DIE. SO TRAINING IS WHAT WE WILL DO. A smile stretched across vernos' face from cheek to cheek. It was training time now.

How should we go about doing this Bonju?

WHAT I WANT YOU TO DO IS TRANSFER YOUR SPIRITUAL MIND TO ME SO WE CAN SPEAK FACE TO FACE

Vernos took several deep breathes before proceeding with what Bonju had advised him to do. Within several seconds Vernos opened his eyes to see Bonju standing before him. The world they were currently in now appeared to be radiating with energy the ground was black and had glowing symbols and markings and the sky itself radiating with waves of aura energy. All things currently glowing matched the starry purple aura Vernos and Bonju had. This was their training grounds.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? Vernos looked at Bonju confused. He didn't know what Bonju wanted him to do at all, this was their first time training. They didn't entirely know how to go about it.

Are we starting now? Vernos had said looking at the now almost impatient Bonju.

YES WE ARE STARTING. HOW WE ARE GOING TO GO ABOUT THIS IS A FULL ON BATTLE BETWEEN YOU AND I. THIS WILL HELP US BETTER UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER RATHER THAN A GAME OF TWENTY QUESTIONS. Vernos surprisingly seemed to have liked that Idea as he got ready to fight his core spirit. Without a moments hesitation Bonju darted in Vernos's direction launching a fist in his path. Vernos created a leaf shield standing his ground to Bonju crossing his arms to prepare for impact. The moment Bonju's fist came into contact with the now leafy shield covering Vernos a slight shock wave was created knocking the two back. Vernos tumbled back catching himself on the third roll as he responded to Bonju's fist with one of his other moves known as "Stealth Needles" he fired a barrage of needles at Bonju, all of which seemed to barely put a scratch on Bonju however the poison from the needles seeped into Bonju's rocky shell and caused Bonju to stagger a bit.

I ALWAYS LOVED THAT MOVE, Bonju said as he lifted his foot slamming it into the ground of the world they were in. A large rumble erupted from the silence and Vernos had a very hard time standing still as the rumble messed with his footing. Bonju yet again darted for Vernos launching another punch his way. This time the punch hit him square in his abdomen and Vernos flew back several feet before tumbling several more.

He slightly staggered a bit before looking back at Bonju seeing the distance that has been created between the two of them. This is too difficult, Vernos looked back at Bonju who didn't seem to have been breaking a sweat but even he could tell that the affects of his poison were slightly working on the stone beast.

WE ARE NOT EVEN FINISHED YET BOY! WE HAVE TO KEEP GOING UNTIL WE ARE IN SYNC WITH ONE ANOTHER. AGAIN! Bonju darted toward vernos once more with the same tactic. Vernos took a look at Bonju's movements and used Bonju's fist as a lift to jump over him the moment his hand was within several inches of vernos's body. Finally making it behind the large golem and avoid the devastating fist punch Vernos launched another stealth needle at Bonju this time making it inside of the cracks on his skin. This served highly effective as Bonju fell to one knee.

Vernos's leaf guard had fallen as he had thought the upper hand in this match was his. As Bonju's back was faced toward him however he noticed a golden aura radiating from Bonju's skin; Gaia's Refuge. Bonju stood up from his kneeling position as if never being poisoned at all. He turned around to face Vernos who wasn't even breaking a sweat at all yet.

I find it difficult to fight when there aren't a whole lot of move sets in my arsenal-

Bonju darted for Vernos Again throwing punch after punch. Vernos managed to dodge every other punch but struggled finding his footing. He tumbled again still managing to get up yet struggling.

AGAIN! Bonju kept the punches going and Vernos struggled dodging them. He tumbled back again. On his hands and knees feeling as defeated as ever Vernos refused to look at Bonju.

HOW DO YOU EXPECT TO AMOUNT TO ANYTHING IF YOU GIVE UP WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH! YOU ARE NOT THE VANUTEI GAIA ENTRUSTED ME TO PROTECT. YOU ARE NOT THE VERNOS I KNOW

Within that instant something in Vernos had sparked, Shut...up, Vernos began staggering to his feet as it appears Bonju was impressd with his actions, Shut up! I am your Vanutei for a reason! We are a team! Gaia not only entrusted you to protect me...But she entrusted me to protect YOU as well! Vernos darted toward Bonju. Bonju put his defenses up as the both starting punch at each other dodging one another's moves as if they knew what the other was thinking. They continued this for three flat minutes.

EXCELLENT BOY! WE ARE IN SYNC! YOU'RE NOT AS WEAK AS I THOUGHT YOU WERE

Bonju let out another intimidating laugh during him and vernos's punch fest. Stopping for a moment both of them had began panting heavily. However vernos stood up with still enough energy to go up against Bonju for another few rounds.

Who's the boy now? he said giving Bonju a teasing smile as the Core spirit placed his hand out to shake Vernos's. The training was a success. Both vernos and Bonju seemed pleased with the results and once the trance had broken Vernos opened his eyes to see that he was still under the Padiv Tree. He smiled to himself as he stood up and placed his hand on the tree.

"Thank you for everything," He said before walking away. Today marked success, let's see what the future has in store.
