General Rules:
Stage Rules:

Holding his trusty mallet over his shoulder, Day looked across the battlefield. The drained river bed offered little in the way of cover, so he hoped his opponent wouldn't have much in the way of ranged abilities. He looked forwards to fighting a strong opponent, but he had confidence that he was going to win the duel. After all, he was the strongest man in the world, and was going to be the king of it. In anticipation, his heart rate had noticeably accelerated, and he bounced back and fourth in place upon the balls of his feet. I wonder what kind of person will have the misfortune of facing me? This is so exciting, I'm getting really pumped up! True to his thoughts, a broad grin was beginning to spread itself across his face, as he turned his gaze across the field to his opponent entering opposite to him. Hopefully a challenging and energizing battle was about to take place.

Vernos touched the dry dirt of the riverbed as he closed his eyes. "No life can be found in this bed. It has seen its last days," He said as he turned to face his opponent. He gave a welcoming smile as he then bowed to greet his opponent. "Vernos Mallardi. Pleasure to meet you," He spoke as he lifted his head up stretching his arms and legs preparing for battle. He wasn't the fighting type but when the situation demands it he can't help himself. He examined his opponent observed his actions and took mental notes of every little thing he did; he was studying before the big examine. Thats a way you can look at it. With in no time I soon will find out the truth in David Padilla's disappearance, and when I do... Snapping his focus back into reality Vernos put a determined expression on his face as he turned to Day. "Whenever you're ready, friend."

Acknowledging his opponent Vernos with a slight nod of his head, Day responded by offering his own name. "Day Kragg, I look forwards to the fight." For a brief moment, Day scanned his opponent, looking him up and down. Attire aside, Vernos looked somewhat imposing to Day, appearing to be both taller and heavier than himself. Well, let's get this party started, he did say whenever I was ready. Not one for hesitation, Day broke into a sprint towards Vernos, readying his hammer as he did so. Upon reaching five meters away, Day pushed off the soil with his right leg behind him, launching himself forwards. Moving rapidly towards Vernos, Day's right side rotated to the front, and he launched a forceful hammer swing from his right side, aiming to strike at Vernos's left side [Ability Used: Darting Crash]. Should Vernos remain within Day's leg range, Day would attempt to run up him with four strikes, flipping backwards after kicking at his face to gain a two meter distance between them [Combo Link: BADABA].

"Likewise," Vernos had spoken the moment Indigo initiated his attack. It is a straight forward move that had to be dodged in an abstract way. But how? Vernos thought very briefly in his head before he soon realized what had to be done. He quickly performed a side step avoiding the weapon. He was afraid he wouldn't avoid the leg however since he was in range so he extended his finger tips in the direction of Day and tiny poisonous thorns scattered in Day's direction. He had performed this move in hopes of  staggering his opponent.

Seeing Vernos pointing his finger tips in Day's direction after dodging his opening attack, Day switched his initial plan to use the BADABA technique, instead diving out of the way into a handspring, and exiting the handspring with a forwards somersault [Ability Used: Spinning Wrath (supportive)], putting a distance of a little under six meters between himself and Vernos. As he had moved to his right, he was now positioned at Vernos's left side. In a fluid motion, Day swapped out his hammer for his pistol. Backing off to further the distance between himself and Vernos, he fired three shots in rapid succession, clutching the weapon with both hands to steady his aim. The shots had been aimed slightly to the right of Vernos, slightly to the left of Vernos, and lastly at his chest, subsequent to the order they were fired. Whilst firing and increasing the distance betwixt them, Day also began to circle around clockwise in hopes of moving to Vernos's left side blind spot. Ugh, guns really aren't as fun to use, but I guess it's the best bet for the moment at least. Hopefully I'll be able to close in again fairly soon.

Vernos smirked as Day dodged his needles. It has been so long since someone  outsmarted his stealth needle attack. Vernos studied Day's movements after his attacked failed. Day had pulled out a pistol and Vernos knew what had to be done. Guns...so distasteful. Vernos crouched down as a large cluster of dust began to swirl around him, Day's shots did hit Vernos in his arms however but for what it's worth Vernos had no choice. the earth slightly began to shake as the dust cloud grew larger. It began to emit a darkened, starry, purple light as a large stone figure appeared out of it. It was vernos in his core form. He placed his hands out in front of him as if he were holding a vase. A golden light began to form around him coating his body and healing his wounds. As soon as the light faded away Vernos towered over Day, "I AM BONJU. SON OF GAIA. PREPARE TO FIGHT!"

Drat, he's gone into core form. Rather intimidatingly, the now larger stone form Vernos loomed over Day. Not one to be easily dissuaded, Day rushed towards Vernos (or perhaps it would be better to now say "Bonju") from the side, aiming at his eyes. Maintaining a periodic fire rate, Day hoped to either impair his vision, or at least make him block his eyes with his arms. When he fired his fourth and final shot in the clip, Day was only a couple meters away from Bonju. Throwing the now empty gun to his left such that it would hopefully catch Bonju's attention in the case of the bullets' failure, Day drew his hammer once more. Ducking down as he closed the remaining distance, Day swung the hammer across his body from his right side, in an attempt to strike Bonju in the back of his left knee. As he launched the attack, Day let out a pronounced shout, hoping that he too could provide some measure of intimidation.

CLEVER, Bonju had took note of Day's strategy as he blocked the bullets with his arm only to be knocked down by day's hammer. The impact made Vernos fall but the damage dealt was minor do to the healing factor, however being hit with a hammer is never pleasant no matter how you look at it. "EXCEPTIONAL MOVE, HOWEVER IM NOT FINISHED YET," Bonju stood back up and turned around glaring Day down examining his demeanor. Raising his foot in the air he would slam it down creating a large quake. The earth shook vigorously as Bonju remained still, unphased by its movements. "ALTHOUGH VERNOS DOESN'T LIKE TO BATTLE....I'M NOT VERNOS!" Bonju stated making it known he meant business. The earth continued to erupt as Bonju continued to look at Day.

As Bonju recovered from Day's hammer strike, he decided to rush at him, running towards him head on with the aim of making a second strike. Alas, before Day could reach Bonju, his opponent had used a literally earth shattering attack. Far too close to turn back now, Day continued his advance, and managing to get in range to attack. However, it was at that point that Day's right foot sank into one of the newly formed crevices, his left leg's momentum jerking his body forwards, but failing to free the trapped foot. Aware that he was at least momentarily impaired movement wise, Day tried to make the most of the closed distance. Swinging like a batter with both arms, Day slightly extended the hammer's range as he attempted to launch an attack at Vernos's right knee from the side [Ability Used: Slam]. Day hoped the force of the blow would be sufficient to either knock back the behemoth he was facing, or at best force some distance between them. Additionally, Day attempted to use the swing's force to help free his foot, but while he did feel something give, he remained loosely locked up by the river bed's soil. Geeze, it seems like this guy's never going to go down. And unless I can free my leg, I might be having troubles of my own.

I think you had your fun Bonju
VERY WELL THEN.
Jumping backward creating just a tiny bit of distance between him and Day, Bonju knelt down and began to shrink as a bright light emitted from his body. Soon Bonju was Vernos and Vernos stood up looking at Day who managed to get trapped by the crack created by Terra's Madness. Vernos Pulled a leaf from his hair, "You my friend are an acceptional battler, this fight is getting exciting. Also I do apologize for Bonju. He can get a little out of hand. But your up against me again, witness his song" He had noted before playing a song on the leaf. The sound was mezmerisingly beautiful and could nearly put anyone into a luxurious slumber.

As Bonju transitioned back into Vernos, Day finally managed to free his right foot from within the ground, leaving the ankle rapidly bruising, and even slightly cut in places. Seeing Vernos moving a leaf for what seemed to be an attack, Day began to dart to the side, aiming to retrieve his dropped Gun. As he moved, Day began to hear an oddly soothing melody emerging from Vernos's weird leaf flute, evidently a song. Beginning to grow drowsy, Day attempted to further the distance, flipping into a forwards somersault to increase the distance between himself and Vernos, while at the same time going to grab his pistol from off the ground [Ability Used: Spinning Wrath, Supportive]. However, as a result of his body's responses slowing from drowsiness, Day fudged the landing, as he landed hard on his right ankle, causing a sharp jolt of pain to shoot up his right leg. Darnit, it's probably a torn tendon. Only two positives were able to be drawn from the occurrence. The first was that the pain from his injury had managed to keep Day from falling asleep. The second was that Day was now next to the gun. Scooping up the pistol and trading the hammer for it once more, Day prepared himself, his weight focused on his left leg. Of course, as the pistol was empty, Day had to reload it, and thus was unable to launch an attack. Whilst rapidly undertaking this needed task, he kept a wary gazed directed upon Vernos.

Padilla's lullaby was a specialty of Vernos's. He takes great pride in this move for if it fails to put someone to sleep the drowsiness is still enough to help aid him in battle. He took note of all the actions that occurred throughout the course of the song. Day had injured himself not once but twice pulling his leg out of the crack in the earth and tripping when trying to create distance between him and Vernos. Running toward Day in a zigzag formation Vernos began shooting poisonous needles at him from the tips of his fingers. The closer he got to Day the closer the needles got. Vernos Kept firing the needs in day's direction hoping to at least get him with one of their points.

PostSubject: Re: Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos   Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos I_icon_minitimeWed Sep 02, 2015 9:04 pm

As Vernos began his approach on Day, Day swapped his pistol for his hammer, only to spin the hammer in front of him. As the hammer spun, it was able to block the first of the needles. Furthermore, the light from above glinted off of the hammer's surface, shining in the direction off Vernos's eyes, not sufficient to blind him, but hopefully enough to catch his eye. Lobbing the hammer high into the air with the hopes that Vernos's gaze would follow it [Ability Used: Brilliant Show], Day pushed off the ground with his left foot, dashing to his left to avoid the other needles thrown by Vernos. As he pushed off, he rotated his body so that it remained facing Vernos, whilst drawing his pistol [Combo Link: Brilliant Show into Darting Crash]. When he came to a halt, he cringed slightly due to pain in his ankle, however his avoidance of using his right leg in the dash had managed to prevent too much pain. Re-positioned and having dodged Vernos's attack, Day fired three shots at Vernos. The first was in front of Vernos, with Day's hopes that Vernos would have trouble stopping his forwards momentum. The second shot was directly behind the first, with the intention of hitting Vernos's torso should he stop to dodge the first. The last shot went haywire, far off to the side, was Day felt a sudden pain in his arm. Looking to it, it appeared his left arm had been grazed by one of the needles just below the shoulder, Day having failed to fully dodge the flurry of needles. Whilst not sufficient to cause notable piercing damage, evidently the poison had been delivered, and Day was feeling the full force of its' effects, feeling drained of energy.

Vernos's eyes widened when he saw Day maneuvering around the battle field. It truly surprised him but it didn't catch him off guard. Being blinded Vernos struggled to regain vision. He was in full on Battle mode. Squinting to see Vernos had finally regained enough vision to see a gun pointed at him from a distance his face look highly frightened...almost like a fear. He quickly crossed his arms on his chest then struck them in a downward slice summoned a large amount of seafoam colored leaves. The leaves coat 18% of all damage dealt as the leaves act as a shield an armor from head to toe. The bullets shot how ever manage to hit Vernos in his left shoulder before the defense could be fully applied. However now that the defense is applied he will still be invulnerable to 18% of all other attacks.

PostSubject: Re: Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos   Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos I_icon_minitimeThu Sep 03, 2015 2:52 pm

Catching the hammer with his right arm as it fell down, completing its' previous arc, Day stumbled slightly to the right, as a result of a combination of both sudden fatigue from the poison, as well as his earlier sustained injury to his right ankle. This occurrence nearly caused Day to drop the hammer, but he barely managed to avoid that outcome. Not trusting his body to move, Day remained stationary, turning his gaze to Vernos. Day strapped his hammer back to his waist, choosing to once more rely on his pistol for the fight. However, he wasn't quite sure how valid of an option it was given the circumstances. After all, from where Day stood, Vernos appeared to be encased in a solid shield of leaves. Under normal circumstances, Day would have attempted to bash through the leaf shield through the use of his hammer, however conditions were hardly optimal for such an action. Day had already taken damage sufficient to noticeably hamper his mobility, and he was presently feeling drained of energy as well. Hence, Day fired four times at the center of the leaf shield, hoping that perhaps multiple shots to the same area would enable some level of penetration. Having emptied the clip, Day was once more forced to reload his gun, placing the last clip into the pistol.

Vernos looked at Day. Amazed by his abilities. This was no longer a fight of winning; this was a fight of enjoyment. He loved how far he had to go into order to make it THIS far into the match. He began panting heavily still slightly bleeding from the wounds he had received. However lucky for him the leaf guard move was still in affect for a little while longer. As Day fired his pistol several more teams at Vernos he tried to dodge. His movements were slightly slower than usual however. He evaded two of the bullets while still being hit in his side. Normally the match would have been over, but with the buff of Leaf guard still in affect Vernos used that to push forward for just a little while longer. "I want you to know...When this match is over...I want you to go on a quest with me..To find padilla...I will help you as well become a great leader...if Only you help me find padilla...that is my wish," after those words without a moment to spare Vernos pulled a leaf from his armor and placed it on his lips. He began to play padilla's lullaby. The sounds traveled toward Day in hopes of putting him asleep again.

Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos Empty
PostSubject: Re: Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos   Saidala Valley, 1 v. 1, Day v. Vernos I_icon_minitimeMon Sep 21, 2015 8:04 pm

All over, Day's body ached, as if weighed down by lead weights strapped all about his body. His torn tendon produced a dull throbbing ache, and Day's muscles felt notable strain as they struggled to get oxygen. Day's breathing had gotten heavier since the beginning of the fight as well. It would be fair to say that Day was at his limit. Worse, Day's mental endurance was wearing thin as well. Vernos's invitation to join him stung at Day's pride. And to think that his opponent had the audacity to even think that Day would need his help. Even though others would notice the deference in Vernos's tone, Day was simply frustrated that Vernos would deign to think himself on Day's level, particularly since this was coming from an opponent who had him in a weakened state. Grimacing, Day managed to force a smile through the pain as he provided his response.

"You really think you can help me, the next king of the world? I'm the greatest, the bravest, and the strongest man alive, I don't need the help of anyone, and I have no intention of joining or following anyone else. Maybe one day you can follow me, if you're good enough." As Vernos had now begun the familiar motion of using the tiring leaf song, Day attempted to pre-empt this action firing several times as the song began to resonate throughout the river bed. Concentrating his shots at where the leaf Vernos had removed from his armor to make the makeshift flute was, Day was able to get off three shots before the song struck him like a wave, compounding itself with his already tired body. Vision blurring, the pistol dropped to the ground with a soft pliff like noise, and Day collapsed onto a single knee. Keeping himself awake through sheer will alone, Day used the shaft of his hammer to proper himself up, pushing himself off the ground with his left leg towards Vernos, mustering the entirety of his remaining strength. Alas, Day had made what would prove to be a most tragic mistake. While spurring himself to action had managed to stall sleep, the effects of Padilla's Song were far from negated. In the midst of his relentless rush, a drowsied Day failed to properly accommodate for his injured ankle, and as he placed his weight on his right leg, his ankle collapsed, failing to support his body mass. Yet momentum remains a thing, so rather than simply crumpling to the ground, Day's error was instead emphasized spectacularly, as he maintained his velocity flipping head over heals across the dried out sand like a rag doll shot from a cannon. Day finally came to a stop, skidding to a halt face first through the river bed, likely having traveled nearly seven meters in total. Looking up as much as he was able to Day tried to determine if he had been able to win, as his vision faded to black.

Vernos looked at Day unpleasantly. His words didn't seem all to inviting and Vernos had thought he had offended the Regg. He looks at himself as a king, a leader among all, a dictator...a tyrant...no not that, there is something in his heart...what is that something...Vernos thought to himself for a moment listening to Day's brief speech. He scoffed at Day's remark of "being good enough" Vernos never thought anyone to be better than the other, But I guess not everyone can think alike...then no one would exist.

As the song ended Day collapsed just after firing several bullets in the open spot of Vernos's armor. Vernos got shot in the spot once and flung to the side to avoid being hit again. The other bullets hit his armor as he toppled over. He turned around staggering to his feet as he tried walking over to Day who already seemed almost out for the count. A sharp pain pierced in vernos's body as he had forgotten about his previous gun wound injuries. He was bleeding heavily. Vernos fell to his knees as day collapsed...quickly after that Vernos collapsed as well. Both bodies down for the count.
